The world feels heavy right now.
Between packed calendars, work stress, endless scrolling, and cities in a rush, it’s easy to forget:
- How to play.
- The joy of wandering without a destination.
- That presence is found in the pause, not in the hustle.

Our Big Egg Hunt Debuts at Canary Wharf
On the 5th of April 2025, my daughter and I decided to do something different. We set off on The Big Egg Hunt 2025, starting at Canary Wharf. And what we thought would be a simple Easter trail… turned into something much bigger.

In just one afternoon, we:
- Discovered 9 beautiful artist-designed egg sculptures with each egg uniquely designed across its curved surface.
- Laughed way more than we expected.
- Got acquainted with parts of London we’d normally rush past on the train – the parks, boardwalks, and green spaces.
- Felt that childlike thrill of the hunt.
- Clocked 10,000+ steps without a single complaint from me.
- Chatted with strangers – even mall security gave us clues.
- Stumbled upon the best sourdough pizza I’ve ever had.
It wasn’t just an egg hunt. It was a reset.
Now, we’re on a mission to find the remaining 111 eggs before the 2025 London Marathon, and 9 are still hiding in Canary Wharf!”

What Is The Big Egg Hunt?

The Big Egg Hunt is the planet’s largest egg hunt supporting vital wildlife conservation across Asia and beyond. This global celebration blends art, adventure and activism, connecting communities from London to New York through joyful discovery while protecting endangered species and habitats.

Running from March 24th to April 27th, 2025. The Big Egg Hunt is a :
- free public art trail across London – a collection of 120 giant stunning 2ft egg sculptures, each uniquely designed by talented artists, hidden in plain sight.
- free, joy-filled city-wide treasure hunt in support of wildlife conservation set across London’s most iconic neighbourhoods and landmarks, and a
- collaboration between Elephant Family and Clarence Court eggs.

It’s part game, part gallery, part mindfulness walk, and certified 100% fun.
Your mission? Find them. Collect them. Let them remind you that life should be fun, too.

As the trail is live now, you’ll also be able to access the silent auction site where the public can bid to buy the 2ft eggs, with money raised going to support Elephant Family’s vital conservation work to protect habitats and wildlife in South Asia.

The Hunt Continues: Giant Eggs Take Over Battersea Power Station!
On April 12th, 2025, we continued unlocking the secrets of the hunt! Turns out, we’ve got a natural talent for treasure hunting because we uncovered 21 More Eggs at Battersea Power Station! That brings our grand total to 30 out of 120, and we’re just getting started.

The Grand Finale: 35 Eggs & 22,000 Steps Later
On April 26th, 2025,

With relentless curiosity (and comfy shoes), I:
🥚 Closed the Canary Wharf chapter – 9 final eggs found!

🥚 Conquered Sloane Street – 20 dazzling discoveries

🥚 Wrapped up in Ecclestone Yard – 5 last treasures

What a hunt!

Total haul for the day: 35 eggs 🎉
Steps clocked: 22,000+ (a personal record!)

Bonus win: Explored new London gems along the way. I enjoyed chilling in the Ole and Steen before setting off home.
Sometimes the real prize isn’t just the eggs, it’s the adventure they lead you on. Now, where’s the nearest foot massage? 😉

The Big Egg Hunt is Intentional Living (Disguised As Fun)

What if joy didn’t need to be earned through hustle?
What if mindfulness looked like following a map and chasing color?
What if the best reset wasn’t a weekend away… but a wander through your own city?

The Big Egg Hunt is your invitation to slow down, look up and lean into curiosity.
From the charm of Canary Wharf, Chelsea, Sloane Street, Covent Garden and Marble Arch to cultural icons like the Battersea Power Station, the Barbican, the British Museum and Royal Albert Hall, each stop offers a unique chance to explore the Capital while experiencing a one-of-a-kind public art trail with purpose.

Here is how to get started:
- Pick a starting point: We began at Canary Wharf – Covent Garden, Chelsea, and Marble Arch are packed with eggs too.
- Download the app. ‘The Big Egg Hunt’ App can be downloaded now on iOS and Google Play. With this, you can “collect” the eggs, track your progress, and even win real prizes.
- Bring someone along. Kids, partners, friends, or go solo and connect with new faces on the trail.
- Keep it playful. Set mini challenges. Snap photos. Ask strangers for tips. (People love sharing their egg finds.)

More Than an Easter Trail: A Life Lesson in Disguise
In chasing these eggs, we remembered something essential:
- That joy isn’t the finish line prize – it’s fuel for the journey. Drink deeply.
- That movement isn’t always about goals, as exploration counts.
- That true connection – to your city, your people, your soul – blooms when you pause long enough to truly see.
- That you’re never too old to go on a treasure hunt and create unforgettable memories.

And sometimes, all it takes to light up a grey day…is a giant golden egg and a pizza you never planned to find.

Your Turn

65 eggs down. 55 to go.
The exhibition ends on April 27th – so take it one step, one sculpture, one smile at a time.
Whether you find 2 or 120, you win the moment you say yes to the adventure.
So, will you take the leap?
London’s waiting. The eggs are hidden. And your next burst of joy might be just around the corner.
Thank you for being a VCC reader.
