Gratitude is one of life’s most profound gifts.
It does more than brighten your mood—it plants the seeds of optimism, and from those seeds, hope grows. A grateful heart fuels a healthier, happier, and even longer life. But here’s the secret: gratitude isn’t just something you feel. It’s a choice you make, every single day.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve kept a gratitude journal. It’s my quiet corner of reflection, where I capture the small and big moments that bring me joy—moments that might otherwise slip by unnoticed. A kind smile. The warm embrace of Earl Grey tea in my favorite mug. The way sunlight dances on a windowsill. These tiny treasures often hold the most beauty, but only when we take the time to notice them.
Gratitude is a Mindset

As a welcome gift, get my Gratitude Journal Log—your guide to more joy, clarity, and success every day!"
When life feels heavy—and it inevitably does—that journal becomes my anchor. Gratitude doesn’t erase the hard times, but it offers clarity. It reminds me that even on the hardest days, there’s always something worth cherishing.
That’s why I’m thrilled to share my 2024 gratitude journal with you. My goal is simple: to encourage you to slow down, savor life’s blessings, and let hope and joy find their way into your heart. This is a very personal blog post that is a regular feature on my blog annually.
Why not start today? Find a notebook, take five minutes, and jot down what you’re thankful for. It doesn’t have to be grand or poetic—just honest. Because when we focus on what’s good, we invite more goodness into our lives.
Here’s to keeping our cups full, together.
2024: A Year of Milestones, Gratitude, and Growth and Better Days
“And I pray for better days for everyone in the world.” – Goo Goo Dolls, Better Days
As I sit down with my gratitude journal on the final day of 2024 and look back on the year, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the experiences, achievements, and lessons that shaped 2024. Each milestone was a reminder of how far I’ve come, how much I’ve grown, and how blessed I am to be on this journey.
This year has been a tapestry of blessings, challenges, and growth. Sharing my gratitude feels like inviting you, my readers, into my heart—a place where love, hope, and faith reside. Here’s a snapshot of the moments that made this year unforgettable:
The Gift of Life
Life itself is my first blessing. For my life and the lives of my loved ones, I am endlessly grateful.
To honor this, I dedicate “Cherish” by Kool & The Gang to all of them. Life is fragile, and every moment with those we love is a treasure worth celebrating.
Safe Journeys
This year, we traveled near and far, always returning home safely. For every journey mercy granted to us and our loved ones, my heart overflows with gratitude.
Each trip reminded me how precious it is to have a place to return to—a sanctuary filled with warmth and familiarity.
18 Years of Love
This year marked 18 incredible years of marriage to my husband. Eighteen years! Our marriage has grown into adulthood, and with it, so has our love.
I dedicate three songs to us:
You’re All I Need to Get By performed by Ben Platt and Cynthia Erivo this year. The song is originally by Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson.
“Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere” by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to you.
You are my home. With you, I’ve found love, laughter, and the kind of joy that feels like adventure. You’ve been my safe harbor, my encourager, and my partner in everything. Thank you for 18 years of togetherness and for all the memories we’ve created.
For My Daughters
To my two amazing daughters, this gratitude runs deep. You inspire me daily.
I dedicate “A Mother’s Prayer” by Celine Dion to you both.
Here’s what I wish for you:
- Rely on your faith. Trust God as your source of hope and guidance.
- May your paths be protected with love and grace. The world may be tough, but you are tougher.
- Fight fiercely for your dreams. Don’t wait for someone else to offer you opportunities—go out and create them.
Above all, remember this: You are enough.
If the world ever makes you feel like there’s no space for you, carve your own path. You are destined for greatness, unapologetically. And in all you do, may you always remember that we love you deeply.
Thank you both for keeping us grounded, humble, and on our toes.
A Precious Gift: Time with Our Mothers
This year brought us a gift beyond measure—time with our mothers.
My 72-year-old mother visited from Nigeria and stayed with us for six weeks. Those weeks were a blessing, filled with laughter, shared meals, and cherished memories. Anyone with elderly parents knows how precious these moments are. Each one feels like a treasure, reminding us to hold tight to the time we have.
We also had the joy of celebrating with my 84-year-old mother-in-law, whose wisdom and presence continue to enrich our lives. Together, we shared family milestones and celebrations, weaving new memories into the fabric of our lives.
For the opportunity to honor and love these remarkable women, we are deeply thankful. I dedicate these songs – A Song For Mama by Boyz II Men and – In The Room by Maverick City Music, Naomi Raine and Tasha Cobbs Leonard – to both of them for their witness and faithfulness in teaching us of God’s presence in our lives. Loving them is food to our souls. Time with them is a reminder of the strength and love that connect generations—a legacy we carry forward with gratitude.
Celebrating My Blog’s One-Year Anniversary
This year, my blog turned one!
Cue the music: Born to Be Brave – by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series only on Disney+.
Starting a blog was a leap of faith, but what an incredible journey it has been. I will keep defying gravity.
One thing I’ve learned this year is that progress often goes unnoticed. It’s not always loud or celebrated.
But just because others don’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
I’ve realized:
- Being behind someone else doesn’t mean I’m on the wrong path.
- Applause isn’t the only measure of success.
But here’s the thing—I will celebrate anyway! Because “E No Easy” by PSquare sums it up perfectly.
Success deserves acknowledgment, even if it’s just me clapping for myself.
Milestones in Los Angeles
Reuniting with my four siblings and family in Los Angeles to celebrate milestone birthdays was a beautiful blessing. Family, laughter, and memories were the soundtrack of this unforgettable trip. I dedicate this song to them – “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang.
My Personal Growth
Growth is not always visible, but it’s always transformative.
This year, I reconnected with my dreams and vision. Listening to Gabrielle’s “Ten Years Time” reminded me of something important: I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
It’s taken over a decade for me to launch my blog, but every step of the journey prepared me for this. I’ve learned to trust myself, to be brave, and to share my gifts unapologetically.
I don’t know where I’ll be in 10 years, but I’m ready for the ride. Life isn’t about certainty—it’s about showing up, living passionately, and making a difference.
New Year’s Day Movie Night with My Daughters
New Year’s Day was a cozy one. My eldest daughter curated a movie list, and we laughed until our sides hurt.
One highlight? Steven Spielberg’s reimagined West Side Story.
Over 12 years ago, I saw the West Side Story production at the Milton Keynes Theatre. Spielberg’s re-imagining brought a burst of color, capturing the essence of Puerto Rican culture, dance, music, and the poignant journey of immigrants. It delved into love’s struggles across divides, the despair of loss, and the aching regret after untimely deaths.
I often find myself pondering: What would their lives have looked like if those needless losses hadn’t occurred? Did they learn from their pain? Did they grow?
But I digress. As we sang the songs together, it became clear—the joy of spending time with a loved one is nothing short of healing. That kind of quality time is a gift that never fades. It’s a bond that stays with you, long after the music ends.
Disney 100 Exhibition
As a lifelong Disney fan, visiting the Disney 100 Exhibition at ExCeL London was a dream come true.
Every moment fed my curiosity, imagination, and creativity. I learned that Walt Disney treated music as a character in his films—a concept that resonates deeply with me.
I even picked up Disney’s 100 Quotes book, which has become my go-to coffee table inspiration. (If you’re curious, I wrote a full blog post about the experience!)
New Year’s Afternoon Tea at TING
This year, we marked New Year’s Day with an elegant afternoon tea at TING, Shangri-La Hotel.
Perched on the 35th floor, we soaked in breathtaking views of London while savoring every bite. It was a celebration of family, luxury, and love—an experience that reminded me how important it is to make memories that last.
The Lion King Musical
This year, I revisited a special memory.
Twenty years ago, my husband proposed to me after we watched Disney’s Lion King musical. It was a night I’ll never forget—a promise to a life of love and adventure.
This year, I took our daughters to see the same show at the Lyceum Theatre. (I’ve captured more of my thoughts in a blog post—feel free to check it out!)
Sharing that experience with them was a full-circle moment. It was a reminder of how far we’ve come and the blessings we’ve shared.
I left the theatre feeling elated, nostalgic, and deeply thankful for this beautiful life we’ve built together.

South Korean Drama Days
My second daughter fell in love with the enchanting world of South Korean dramas last year.
We dedicated two days to binge-watching two of her recommendations, and I was mesmerized by the storytelling, music, and cultural richness.
It was a beautiful bonding experience and a reminder of how much there is to learn from other cultures.
My Sister’s 40th Birthday
My sister turned 40 this year, and what an epic celebration it was!
She is my SHero—the Wind Beneath My Wings (by Gladys Knight).
“Sister” by Charlotte Dipanda and Yemi Alade captures everything I feel about her. She is my rock, my cheerleader, and my constant source of encouragement.
Her unwavering support has shaped my life in countless ways. She reminds me to be better, love harder, and dream bigger.
To my incredible sister: Thank you for being you.
Les Misérables: A Love Rekindled
My husband and I went on a date night to see Les Misérables the Musical at the Sondheim Theatre.
Victor Hugo’s emotionally charged story of Jean Valjean’s redemption and perseverance moved us to tears.
Ten years ago, we saw a production of Les Mis in the Middle East, and it sparked a love for the story and soundtrack in my husband. This year, I surprised him with West End tickets—a wish he’d carried for years.
Watching him experience that joy was priceless. (I’ve captured more of my thoughts in a blog post—feel free to check it out!)
Reaching Blogging Milestones
Just 13 days after launching my blog, I crossed the 100-user mark.
By Day 30, I had 188 users and over 2.2K page views. By Day 35, 200 users had found their way to my corner of the internet.
The numbers kept climbing: 305 users in 80 days (2.6K views) and by August, I celebrated crossing the 1,000-user milestone with over 6K views.
It wasn’t just about the numbers—it was about the gratitude I felt for every person who visited, read, and shared my words.
Amazon Affiliate Success
This year, both my UK and US Amazon Associates accounts were approved, opening up the first of many income streams for my blog.
- UK Affiliate Success: Approved 133 days post-launch and earned £6.32 with a conversion rate of 9.76%.
- US Affiliate Success: Approved in just 39 days post-launch and earned $4.06 with a conversion rate of 2.01%.
These small but significant wins reminded me that success is built one step at a time. Every accomplishment is proof that I’m on the right path. Here’s to more success in future.
Celebrating My Daughters’ Achievements
My heart swelled with pride as my daughters reached important milestones this year.
- My first earned a merit in LAMDA Grade 7 Acting.
- My second achieved a distinction in her Grade 5 ABRSM theory exam and a distinction in LAMDA Grade 5 Public Speaking.
Their hard work, dedication, and talent continue to inspire me every day.
A Journey of Growth: Starting My Coaching Course
This year, I embarked on an incredible journey at Barefoot Coaching Ltd., diving into their ICF Level-2 accredited coaching course. It was far more than a learning experience—it was a transformation.
The course stretched me in ways I hadn’t anticipated, unlocking new perspectives and fostering immense personal and professional growth. My tutors brought unparalleled expertise, while my amazing cohort (OL92) offered a tapestry of experiences that enriched every conversation and interaction.
Through this journey, I gained valuable insights into my coaching style—affirming the strengths in my approach while identifying areas to refine. It was a deep dive into who I am as a coach and the impact I want to create.
This experience was a gift, one that has not only shaped my coaching practice but also strengthened my resolve to keep learning and growing.
A Transformative Experience: Coaching with Purpose
During my coaching course with Barefoot Coaching Ltd., I had the privilege of working with three remarkable volunteer clients, dedicating 45 hours to their growth and transformation.
Their trust, vulnerability, and willingness to dive deep made each session not just a learning experience, but a profoundly fulfilling one.
One moment stands out. One client said to me, “You’ve found your home and life purpose.”
Those words brought tears to my eyes. In that simple sentence, I found a deep affirmation of my path—one that confirmed my commitment to helping others transform their lives. It was a reminder that true purpose doesn’t just come from what we do, but from the impact we have on those around us.
Sweet Sixteen: A Quiet Celebration
We celebrated our first daughter’s 16th birthday in a simple, heartfelt way. It was a quiet day, filled with gratitude for the light she brings to our lives. Her kindness, strength, and laughter are daily reminders of how blessed we are to have her. Here’s to her journey ahead and the countless moments of joy she’ll continue to create.
Strengthening Our Marriage
My husband and I attended our third Marriage Encounter weekend, in Swindon and our first in the UK.
These weekends have been transformative for our relationship, equipping us with tools to communicate better and create a stronger foundation for our family.
The Marriage Encounter experience, whether over a weekend or in seven three-hour sessions, offers couples valuable tools to strengthen their bond.
It’s not just about improving communication or deepening emotional connection—it’s about creating a nurturing, secure environment for the family.
These skills, learned with intention, continue to serve couples even as they enter the empty-nest phase, ensuring a lifetime of love, growth, and mutual support.
This is a journey that deepens your relationship and prepares you for all the seasons of life ahead.
I’m grateful that our daughters witnessed our commitment to continually grow in our marriage. The weekend left us feeling renewed, connected, and ready for whatever comes next.
A Ladies Spiritual Retreat in Glasgow
Traveling to Glasgow with six incredible women for my annual spiritual retreat was a highlight of the year.
We explored the city, laughed over lunch at Turkiye Efes Restaurant, marvelled at the Zippos Circus, and ended the day in quiet communion with God.
The 3-nights retreat was a chance to renew, refresh, and restore—spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Even with travel delays on our return, we remained grounded in the peace and joy we’d found together. Here’s to more numbers joining me in 2025.
A Small Win Worth Sharing
This year, my husband and I discovered a fantastic registration center where we obtained our NIN documents in just 30 minutes. It was so efficient that we referred friends and family for the same service.
Sometimes, it’s the small wins that bring unexpected joy!
Inspired by Hamnet
Watching the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Hamnet at the Garrick theatre was an emotional journey.
Maggie O’Farrell’s poignant portrayal of Shakespeare’s wife, Agnes, and their family deeply moved me. Agnes’s resilience and unwavering devotion to her husband struck a chord, but it was the portrayal of grief—after the loss of their son—that lingered in my mind. It highlighted the different ways spouses cope with such tragedy and its impact on a tight-knit family.
Learning that Shakespeare wrote Hamlet in memory of Hamnet added another layer of beauty and sorrow to the story. It reminded me of the healing power of art and its ability to preserve the memory of those we love. (I’ve captured more of my thoughts in a blog post—feel free to check it out!)
Laughter with Basketmouth
Attending Basketmouth’s comedy show at the Indigo O2 was pure joy.

This year, I shared a lovely Mother’s Day lunch at Izgara Restaurant with my mother-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
It was our first coordinated celebration in a long time, and it reminded me of the strength of sisterhood—even with our differences. Prioritizing these connections was a gift I’ll always cherish.
The Handmaid’s Tale
Watching The Handmaid’s Tale at the London Coliseum with my husband was equal parts chilling and thought-provoking.
Its dark themes lingered with me long after the show, prompting deep reflection. (I have captured more of my thoughts in a blog post—feel free to check it out!).
A Weekend of Inspiration in York
I am a school governor of a Catholic secondary school. As part of my work, I was invited to the Loreto Education Trust Conference in York. This trip was nothing short of transformative. Immersed in the legacy of Mary Ward, I felt deeply inspired by her pioneering spirit and the enduring impact she has had on girls’ education in the UK.
The weekend unfolded beautifully. From exploring the Bar Convent Museum to marveling at York Minster, strolling along the historic city walls, and indulging in dessert at the Guy Fawkes Inn – the restaurant, each moment was a blend of history, reflection, and joy.
The conference itself was an affirmation of community and purpose. Engaging presenters brought Mary Ward’s vision to life, deepening my commitment to empowering young women through education. Visiting the Bar Convent Museum was particularly moving, reminding me of the resilience and courage required to open doors for future generations.
I left York feeling inspired and connected, ready to carry forward Mary Ward’s mission with renewed passion.

Boyz II Men Magic
A night out with girlfriends at the Boyz II Men concert at the OVO Arena Wembley was pure nostalgia and joy. From the infectious energy of “Motownphilly” to the emotional depth of ballads like “End of the Road” and “On Bended Knee.”
Boyz II Men (Nathan, Wayan, and Shawn) delivered a performance that was nothing short of mesmerizing.
Their vocal prowess and undeniable stage presence captivated the audience from start to finish. The chemistry between them was palpable, their harmonies weaving together effortlessly to create moments of musical brilliance.
Standout moments included soul-stirring renditions of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” “Water Runs Dry,” and “4 Seasons of Loneliness,” where each note resonated with raw emotion.
And as the night culminated with the heartfelt encore of “A Song for Mama,” Boyz II Men once again reminded us all why they are true legends of R&B, their timeless melodies etching an unforgettable experience in the hearts of everyone in the room.
It was a reminder of the timeless power of music to connect, heal, and uplift.

It felt like a full-circle moment, filled with gratitude and God’s blessings. My heart overflowed with joy, knowing how far we’ve come as a family. I have sealed all the love and energy within my heart from this moment, and then shared it with you all.

Seeing Everyone Loves Jenifa at Milton Keynes Cinema with friends and family was a riot of laughter and fun. Moments like these remind me how shared joy creates lasting memories. Bring on more laughter-filled days in 2025!
A Christmas to Remember and a Family Affair
Hosting Christmas was a beautiful celebration of family and culture—a true clan affair. We ate, laughed, danced to vibrant Nigerian songs, and had a blessed time together. Everybody Loves Christmas by Jenifa and crew had us dancing and cracking up—it was the perfect soundtrack to a joyful day. At Christmas Time by Luther Vandross captured how I felt about the Christmas season.
Embracing Rest and Rebalancing
2024 taught me that burnout can happen, even when chasing dreams. I’m learning to pace myself, plan better, and avoid overwhelm. This journey has sparked ideas I can’t wait to share in the new year.
Trusting the Process
Shifting my mindset from obsessing over hourly analytics to focusing on monthly milestones changed everything. Instead of chasing numbers, I dedicated myself to creating meaningful content. This change made each achievement feel deeply fulfilling. No comparisons, no stress—just joy in the journey and faith in the process.
Humbled by Global Readers
In 2024, my blog welcomed 2,200 visitors from 78 countries—an overwhelming honor for someone who once doubted her place in the blogging world. Knowing people gave their time to my words is humbling and inspiring. For next year, I’m focusing on building an email subscription, understanding my audience, increasing engagement, and sharing my content more widely.
Kindness and Boundaries
“Kindness and compassion” were my guiding principles this year, and they’ll continue into 2025. These values helped me set and maintain healthy boundaries while releasing anything—or anyone—that didn’t nurture, challenge, or inspire me.
Gratitude for My Village
My caterers were my quiet heroes this year, stepping in when I needed them most. Whether for celebrations or daily sanity-saving meals, they allowed me to stay kind to myself during overwhelming times. They made it look like I had it all together—when sometimes I really didn’t. It truly takes a village, and for them, I am forever grateful.
The Power of Intentional Service
2024 allowed me to continue to relish the quiet joy of serving purposefully. Each act, no matter how small, became a way to fill my cup and nourish my soul. Being intentional about how and where I offered my time transformed service into something deeply rewarding. It reminded me that giving doesn’t deplete—it replenishes when done with love and meaning.
Gratitude for 2024
2024 was a year of love, growth, and gratitude. It reminded me of life’s quiet truths:
- Celebrate the small wins even when it’s quiet. They’re the stepping stones to bigger dreams.
- Stay curious, inspired, and open to learning. Every new discovery adds color to your world.
- Love fiercely and without reservation. The people who matter most deserve nothing less.
